On Tuesday, Cameron, Mark, Miike, Vicente and I went for a 60km night ride East of Tokyo. Miike printed out and laminated maps including one of various stages of global cartography — varied, imprecise and geographically irrelevant to our journey. Our knowledge, information, evidence and interaction and (at least for those not destined for space travel) raises questions about how to maintain our spirit of adventure and our incentives for further exploration.
