I LOVE using real maps for campaign materials.
Cool tip.  Regardless of whether or not you’re using a map, having some transparent sheets (like laminating sheets) and some transparency markers is awesome for laying out fight grids in a pinch, or even better if it’s planned out and being draped over a scale map.
Just make sure to have proper cleaning things nearby to wipe it off after a bit.  Those markers can stain the transparency sheets if left on too long and it can be a bitch to get out, if you even can.
