So here’s a map I’ve been working on for a while. It features Kavarhöt, one of the continents making up the world of Śem, and the primary setting of the comic that I’m working on. It was put together using the Saderan tutorial by Tear, over at the Cartographer’s guild.

It was mostly put together for my own benefit, so that I could doodle on and annotate it as I write (I’m a bit of a visual learner), but I thought it might be cool for people to see.

This is by no means finished. Lots of locations to add, and I’d like to illustrate a few of the more important landmarks right onto the page. I’d also like to throw in a compass — the inhabitants of Śem use an odd three-point compass, with the fourth direction, the center, corresponding to the point at which Śardau, Śem’s parent Jovian planet, is directly overhead. Also, needs more/improved rivers.

Also, this map originally included the three other continents. It was also about 2.5 times its current scale, because I guess I am a masochist. I’ll probably do the other continents eventually but not until they’re relevant, which is a long, long time off. You can see traces of two of them up top, but they’re basically untouched, other than a few cities I marked for reference.

Now I think it’s about time I got back to actually drawing things.
