I got a suggestion that I try what I did yesterday — projecting a proper map of a state into its awful, misshapen highway route shield — for Alabama, and though I obviously haven’t tried all the states I’m gonna go ahead and say this is probably the very worst you could hope to do.

this alabamian thanks you for the graphic. for a while i thought that the state highway signs were just supposed to be the bottom half of the state, but now i know they were just distorting the shit out of the state’s shape. growing up is hard to do.
